T’s Messy Potatoes is a mobile food business founded in 2024 by LaTanya Moore and based in Federal Way, Washington, serving King County and nearby communities including Kent and Tukwila. With more than 30 years of kitchen experience, LaTanya built the business around a simple idea: comfort food can be creative, welcoming, and made for everyone—whether customers are looking for a hearty meal at a farmers market, a catered event, or a community pop-up.
The menu centers on fully loaded potatoes—a fun twist on a classic—along with options that reflect real dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, and halal choices. What makes T’s Messy Potatoes meaningful is the purpose behind it: food is the starting point, but the bigger goal is representation, opportunity, and connection. The business has shown up across the region through markets and pop-ups, community partnerships, and cooking education events, including a local feature connected to Studio Live 13.
Looking ahead, T’s Messy Potatoes aims to grow into a lasting local brand—expanding catering and vending, launching a juice line called Messy Squeeze, and eventually opening a brick-and-mortar location. LaTanya’s long-term vision goes even further: building a future food production training academy that teaches culinary skills and entrepreneurship while creating employment pathways for the community. We’ve had the honor of getting to know the owner and collaborating through our small business network. Follow along on Instagram (@tsmessy) as the story continues.
